Kantarama Gahigiri
Kantarama Gahigiri is a Rwandan and Swiss artist, writer and director. She is an alumna of Realness Residency, La Fabrique Cinéma (Cannes), Le Moulin d’Andé, Berlinale Talents and Vienna’s Museum Quartier Residency. As of today, Kantarama pursues her passion immersed in an exploration of identity, sovereignty, empowerment and on-screen representation with her recent projects.

- Terra Mater - Mother Land, addresses the ties between colonisation, capitalism and climate change, and premiered at Berlinale (2023) in Shorts Competition, then at IDFA (2023), Sundance (2024), and is Nominated for a Swiss Academy Award - Short Film Category (2024).
- Mother Earth, about eco-responsibility, a Postcard from the Future sent to the Piazza Grande giant screen, a short film made for the 75th anniversary edition of Locarno Film Festival (2022).
- Ethereality, about migration and the sense of belonging that won Best Short Documentary Award (Poulain d’Or) at FESPACO 2021, screened in competition at Chicago (2020), Namur (2021), Clermont- Ferrand (2020), premiered at Kurzfilmtage Winterthur (2019), and features in the curated program Quartiers Lointains Season 6: Afrofuturistik. It played in more than 80 festivals worldwide, and was released in theatres in France (2021), Kenya (2023), and three consecutive years in Switzerland (2021-22-23).
