Kara Harun

Kara Harun is a two-time Canadian Screen Award nominee for her work as a writer, producer, and host for TVOKids, The Space. Kara has written for children's shows such as Dino Dana (Sinking Ship/TVO), It's My Party (Bristow Global Media/TVO), Pollinators (TVO), and Denis and Me II and Ill (Crave, Family). In the YA space, she wrote for My Perfect Landing on Family Channel, and Netflix. Kara was a co-producer on Beyond Black Beauty, a YA drama series for Amazon Freevee. Kara recently directed episodes Abroad I, II and III on OMNI/Rogers, a diverse sketch comedy show about the queer, Filipina, immigrant experience. In the narrative comedy space, Kara was one of the directors of season I of You’re my Hero, a show about a young man with cerebral palsy navigating an ableist world, which aired on CBC Gem and is greenlit for season II. Kara's feature directorial debut Secrets of a University, recently released on Lifetime. Kara was also showrunner for Aunty B’s House for CBC Kids, which premiered in the fall of 2023.
