In the meantime, you can now catch up on all of our past webinars HERE and we have a feeling these 5 webinars below will get you fueled up and inspired ahead of this upcoming election. Make sure your voice is heard this November and let's keep educating ourselves.

9.14.20 ARTISTS AS ACTIVISTS

How can your film change the world? This round table conversation with powerhouse documentary filmmakers explores how their projects are propelling forward a cause, issue, or narrative and what insights they can share. Find out how their goals for impact have evolved over the course of their careers and specific projects, what initiatives have worked, how they define success in this field, and what they have learned along the way. Whether you're an artist, social justice advocate, or both, this discussion will spark some inspiration for your current or next project to be even more impactful. We need art and the power of cinema more than ever, here's a space to hear from some incredible artists shaping our world and igniting empathy to everyone that has the pleasure of seeing their work.

10.16.20 USING FILM FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

In this webinar you will learn about ways to be anti-racist through your work and how to let humanity lead you as an artist. What are some inherent biases we all have and how can we work through these biases? How can we put humanity at the forefront of our work? Through this discussion we will address issues of classism, white privilege, and hopefully learn to be storytellers who are on the right side of history.

8.21.20 GATEKEEPERS AND GATECRASHERS

This panel is an open conversation to discuss the push for hiring equality NOW. How do you manage your gate? What are the barriers to systemic change? How do directors get that first episode? And how do they get invited back? How do you find directors that can authentically tell your stories?

7.31.20 AUTHENTIC AUTHORSHIP

Who has "the right" to tell which stories? Our conversation focuses on authentic authorship and the importance of the filmmaker point of view. We will address issues of implicit and explicit bias, extractive storytelling, and the effort to decolonize docs. Here we explore panelists from both the doc and narrative space for their first-hand experiences in directing or producing BIPOC stories or dealing with the western/white gaze. How do we dismantle the racial inequities in the film industry and make a commitment to structural change with accountability?

5.19.20 PIVOTING THROUGH THE PAUSE

In these times, when the only thing certain is that the world is devouring content, how do documentarians move forward? We had a chat with amazing filmmakers at various stages of the process from development to distribution, on what they are doing to get their films made. Who are they pitching to and where is funding coming from? What creative solutions are they discovering that keep their productions rolling?
