Amy Coughlin

Amy Coughlin was raised in Boston, Massachusetts and earned her BA in Theater Directing and Psychology from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania before heading west to follow her passion for television. She began her TV career in casting and comedy development at 20th Century Fox which has afforded her a tremendously valuable perspective on how to foster excellent collaboration between creators and executives. She went on to couple her foundation in theater directing with the technical filmmaking skills she acquired through working for years as a script supervisor on feature films, commercials and TV shows. Amy joined the “Black-ish” spin-off, “Grown-ish”, in its first season on FreeForm as their script supervisor where she demonstrated exceptional creative capabilities. She directed her first two episodes of television on Grown-ish's second season and was brought back the following season as a full-time producer in addition to directing both the penultimate and finale episodes of season 3. She is a proud member of the DGA Women’s Steering Committee.
