Julia Weisberg Cortés is a writer director based in both Mexico City and Los Angeles. She became the first woman in her family to have the opportunity to pursue not only a creative higher education, but also a dream. Her work proudly integrates the survival stories of the women in her family with the often lost or overlooked voices of the Mexican-American woman. Julia is known to write and direct period pieces with bits of horror to explore universal and timeless characters. Julia is an alum of the Warner Brothers TV director’s program, where she studied under veteran Warner brothers directors such as Bethany Rooney. She was a humanitas prize winner (2023), for her original pilot, The Golden Children.
