Laura Seixas is a Portuguese film and tv director now living in Vancouver. She has accumulated several successes and awards under her belt including the TV show Dreaming Whilst Black from A24/BCC/Showtime where she works as a co-creator. The show is based on the renowned UK webseries of the same name and was nominated for Best New Scripted Series at Film Independent Spirit Awards in 2024. Laura just finished directing a TV show for the National Portuguese Television and Prime, "A Espia" which will air in the last quarter of 2024. She was also part of the movie series "Contado Por Mulheres" where she directed one of the movies, Serpentina. The show is a co-production from Ukbar Filmes, RTP and Krakow Film Klaster. Laura is a 2021 finalist on the Directors UK mentoring program Inspire where she was mentored by Rachel Talalay.
