Lauren Ciaravalli is a Webby Award winning director and WGA nominated screenwriter who specializes in character-driven comedy, romance, and YA stories. Her work is characterized by warmth and wide audience appeal, while always packing an artistic edge that hooks and engages the viewer. She recently directed L.O.L. Surprise: The Movie (Netflix), which peaked as the #6 Most Popular Movie on Netflix USA, as well as appearing in the Top 10 in Canada, France, Australia, and more. Called upon for her reliability with Gen Z actors and fast-paced shoot schedules, Lauren was tapped to direct Season 1 of BratTV’s series SUNNYSIDE UP. The 120-page endeavor starred Nickelodeon and Disney talent and was completed on a rigorous 13 days shoot schedule. Prior to that, AwesomenessTV hired Lauren to write and direct an episode of the YA romance anthology series LOVE DAILY, for which she earned a WGA Award Nomination. The series enjoyed widespread distribution on Hulu, Netflix, and Teennick, and currently resides on Paramount+. On the commercial side her specialities include comedic campaigns and social media campaigns, consistently scoring millions of views for brands on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and beyond. Lauren holds a BFA in Film & TV from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Upon moving to Los Angeles, she earned her stripes working on hit TV series including TRANSPARENT and BETTER THINGS.
