Michelle Garza Cervera
Director and screenwriter graduated from Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico City. She was awarded a Chevening scholarship to study in the United Kingdom, where she completed an M.F.A in Film Directing at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her short films have been selected in over a hundred international film festivals. Her debut feature HUESERA, written with her co-writer Abia Castillo, produced by Machete and Disruptiva and distributed by XYZ Films premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2022 where it won the Best New Narrative Director and Nora Ephron awards. Her second feature film project PALIZADA is in development with the production company Piano. With El Estudio she is working on a feature adaptation of the short story ESE VERANO A OSCURAS (That summer in the dark) by the multi award winning Argentinian writer Mariana Enríquez.
