Rachel Feldman – Director/Writer - BIO
Rachel Feldman wrote, directed and produced LILLY, an independent feature film starring Patricia Clarkson, John Benjamin Hickey and Thomas Sadoski, based on the remarkable life of Lilly Ledbetter, a poor, Alabama tire factory worker who became the voice of Fair Pay. A seasoned television director, LILLY is her first feature film. LILLY opens theatrically May 9, 2025. Watch the trailer HERE.
Recent credits include directing the pilot and first season of the award-winning Netflix series THE BAXTERS and multiple episodes of BLUE BLOODS, THE ROOKIE & CRIMINAL MINDS. Feldman is incredibly grateful to producers Steven Bochco and David E. Kelley for hiring her to direct DOOGIE HOWSER and PICKET FENCES, her first two episodic gigs. Her award-winning shorts have been broadcast on HBO, PBS and Showtime, produced on grants from The Jerome Foundation, AFI, Kodak and Panavision.
Feldman’s screenplay for LILLY was celebrated by the Athena List, Breaking Through the Lens and was awarded the Ravenal Foundation Grant. Her pilot KINKS won ScreenCraft’s Best Pilot, was chosen as a WGA Best Spec Pilot, a WGA Drama Queens winner, and was the US selection for Cannes Series MIPTV. Her screenplays have been produced by Lifetime Television, optioned by Marc Platt Productions, Mark Canton, Lakeshore Entertainment, Double Nickel Entertainment and eOne.
Feldman is a former co-chair of the DGA Women’s Steering Committee and is an activist for gender parity in the film industry. She holds an MFA from NYU in film directing, and has taught directing in the MFA program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Early in her career Feldman was a storyboard artist for well-known directors on studio pictures and began her career as a child actor, best known for voicing Lucy in Peanuts animation.
