Creating Safer Sets

Working with Intimacy Coordinators

April 17th 2023

Film Fatales members held an online workshop about Creating Safer and Supported Sets with Dr. Annalise Ophelian, N. Jasmine Johnson, Heather María Ácsand Olivia Troy from Reps on Set, a BIWOC-led consulting firm specializing in intimate storytelling, cultural coordination, and on-set mental health services. Moderated by Body Parts director Kristy Guevara-Flanagan. Co-presented by Level Forward.

The webinar answers questions like: how can directors get the most out of working with an intimacy coordinator? How do you tell stories about marginalized communities authentically? When is it appropriate to bring a therapist to set? You’ll learn about the role of intimacy coordinators (including how to hire and work with them), the importance of cultural coordination in storytelling and set dynamics, and how mental health providers can support the well-being of your cast and crew. Watch the recording and learn from industry experts and improve the safety and well-being of your cast and crew!
