Panelists

Nuria Botella is currently the Director of Marketing & Publicity at Maxine Leonard PR. Nuria’s recent projects include handling the international marketing & publicity campaign of Sundance 2020 hit Sci-Fi Thriller Possessor starring Andrea Riseborough and Chris Abbott and the upcoming documentary Fries! The Movie produced by Chrissy Teigen. Before joining MLPR, Nuria held the position of Director of Marketing and Publicity at Myriad Pictures and oversaw the global campaigns for their film slate including the critically acclaimed SXSW films Support the Girls starring Regina Hall and Fast Color starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, as well as Sundance´s The Last Word starring Shirley Maclaine and Amanda Seyfried. In her role at Myriad, she supported the international sales team efforts at the key film markets including Cannes, EFM and AFM. Prior to this Nuria worked with the Publicity and Promotions team of Allied Global Marketing in the multicultural Allied Contigo division in titles such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Disney’s Inside Out and Terminator Genisys. Nuria holds a double international Bachelor’s in Business Administration with Marketing concentration from both Lancaster University (UK) and ICADE School of Business and Economics (Spain). She also graduated with Honors in Business and Management of Entertainment from UCLA Extension – where she received the Laurel Hummel Scholarship, an honor granted to exceptional international students.

Kalani Dreimanis joins Epic Pictures from Myriad Pictures, working largely in international sales and distribution, and most recently representing the critically acclaimed SXSW film Support The Girls. She was involved in the production of several projects, including the Sundance film The Last Word. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Kalani majored in broadcasting at Ryerson University, and after producing several short films, began her career as an editor in reality television. After moving to Los Angeles, she focused her efforts towards film production and development, and joined Straight Up Films, where she worked on such pictures as Transcendence and Jane Got A Gun. Kalani has an eye for original, stirring content, and enjoys being a part of a team who shares her love of cinema, and the challenges of the ever-changing market.

Chris Sousa Ebels is an award winning creative director and co-founder of the LA based creative agency dsf. With over 10 years of experience working in entertainment marketing, creating campaigns featuring A-list talent including Nicole Kidman, Keanu Reeves, Bruce Willis, for clients such as Universal, Sony, Lionsgate, eOne, Millennium. DSF was founded in 2011 in London and since then has produced visionary campaigns across print, AV, digital and social for both Film and TV under Chris’ creative direction. Chris’ work has also been featured in the guardian newspaper for the Cannes young lions awards. Chris is passionate about how marketing can be more than just advertising and has worked to produce commercial art that is thoughtful, marketable and connects to audiences. Chris is a graduate of Monash University’s Bachelor of Design program in Australia where he is from.

Sonia Sebastian is an award-winning, multi-talented writer, producer, and director from Spain. She just premiered her second directorial effort, Freelancers Anonymous, an English-language feature film produced by Full Spectrum Features in Chicago. Her first feature film, De Chica en Chica is now available on Amazon Video. Sonia also co-directed episodes of three Spanish TV Series: Todo es Posible en el Bajo, Aqui Me las den Todas, and Cuñados for Spain’s TV networks Tele 5 and TeleMadrid. She was the showrunner, writer, and director of the first online web series in Spain, Girl Seeks Girl, which was subsequently released on DVD in the U.S. As a producer, her feature film, Cuidate de mi, a romantic comedy about a clinician’s view of heartbreak, premiered at the prestigious Malaga Film Festival. Last year she made the short film Yo Tambien, which received the CIMA Award at the Zaragoza Film Festival as Best Filmmaker. She has a Master’s Degree in Film from San Antonio de Baños, Cuba, and a Master’s degree on Theatre at the Royal Academy of Art in Spain. Sonia has two TV series in development: Extra Life and Our Home Is Your Home. She is in pre-production on her third feature film, The Virgin of Glendale, a coming of age drama.
