Ashley Duong
Ashley Duong is a director, producer, writer, and editor based in Montreal, Canada. She was a writer and director for MOONRISE ON THE ISS (2023). This TV hour documentary is part of the SPACE EXPLORERS series—the largest production ever filmed in space. Her debut feature-length documentary, A TIME TO SWIM (2017), won Special Jury Prize for Best Feature Documentary at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. Ashley has worked in several roles on numerous productions including directing over 15 short documentaries for CBC ARTS and 2 episodes of CANADA'S A DRAG. Ashley earned a BA in Environment Studies and Cultural Studies from McGill University and is a member of Brown Girl Doc Mafia, BIPOC TV & Film, and has sat on the Board of Directors of the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC) Quebec. She is currently producing a documentary filmed in Poland (working title: NOLANDIA), as well as writing and directing a film set in Vietnam.
