Laura E. Davis

Laura Davis is a writer/director and most recently a Michener Fellow in screenwriting at UT-Austin. She is currently in post-production on her second feature, THE INHERITANCE, a tropical gothic set in Belize and starring Mark Webber. She has worked as a story consultant on QUADRANGLE, a pilot in development at HBO. She wrote and directed the award-winning feature THIN AIR, which played at festivals domestically and internationally. Her pilot script MANDEVILLE, set in colonial New Orleans, ranked at the 2015 Austin Film Festival pilot competition. She has written episodes for two television series in development (KODACHROME and L.A. NOCTURNE) co-created by Scott Shepherd (HAVEN, THE DEAD ZONE, QUANTUM LEAP). Past films include COUP DE GRÂCE, a short film starring Sarita Choudhury (HOMELAND, MISSISSIPPI MASALA) and a documentary on HIV/AIDS activism in Paris, which premiered at San Francisco’s Frameline Film Festival. In 2012, she directed the music video LIGHT MY WAY for the beloved L.A. band Lavender Diamond. Laura has served as a Directors’ Liaison at the New York Film Festival, a Festival Coordinator at the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival, and an advisory board member of the Lower East Side Girls Club Film Festival in New York. She previously launched the Austin chapter of Film Fatales.
