Sarvnaz Alambeigi
Sarvnaz Alambeigi is an Iranian filmmaker and visual artist whose work explores themes of identity, resilience, and the complexity of the human condition. With a multidisciplinary background in painting and poetry, her films are known for their poetic language and innovative blending of personal narrative with documentary form. She began her artistic career with a solo painting exhibition in 2000. After graduating from the Graphic Art School, she earned a BA in Painting and went on to develop her documentary practice through internationally recognized programs, including the Danish Film School and the Master School Documentary Campus. In 2013, Alambeigi founded her own production company, Rabison Art, through which she has created several acclaimed films. Her works—1001 Nights Apart (2021) and Maydegol (2024) have screened at major international festivals including Berlinale, DOK Leipzig, Munich, Tokyo, Shanghai, Sarajevo, and São Paulo. She has received numerous awards and distinctions, such as the Berlinale Special Mention, Saxon Award in Leipzig, and the VFF Award in Munich. Her films have also been broadcast on leading platforms, including ARTE. Alambeigi is a member European women directors' association, and Germany’s Directors Association. She has served as a jury member at several international festivals, including the Osnabrück Film Festival and Sunny Side of the Doc. Her work is recognized for its depth,l yricism, and an enduring commitment to exploring the inner life and broader cultural narratives through a distinctly personal lens.
