Sephora Woldu
Sephora Woldu is an Eritrean American filmmaker based in the Tenderloin, San Francisco. Her first film, Impresa! (2013), debuted at the 2013 SF Black Film Festival, also receiving awards at Independent Film Awards Berlin, Montreal International Black Film Festival, and Silicon Valley African Film Festival. Her second film, Exit (2014), was made in Egypt as a select filmmaker for the 2014 Haile Gerima Alternative Film Production Workshop, a program created by the Luxor African Film Festival. Sephora’s third film, Life is Fare (2018), is her debut feature and was awarded funding from the SF Arts Commission and SF Film Commission. Life is Fare will premiere at Brooklyn Film Festival in June 2018.
