Winnie Cheung

Winnie Cheung is a genre filmmaker based between New York and Hong Kong. Her animated short “Albatross Soup” premiered at Sundance Hong Kong, winning Vimeo's Best of the Year and Short of the Week “Short of the Year” Awards. Her debut hybrid docu-horror feature, “Residency” world premiered at International Film Festival Rotterdam and was recognized by Variety as part of “the North American new wave of indie micro-budget genre features.” Her latest short “Last Call” world premiered at SXSW’s Midnight Shorts program, won “Best Short” at Brooklyn Horror and is now streaming on Nowness and Nowness Asia. Winnie also co-produced and edited “Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror” which won the SXSW Audience Award and “Best Documentary” at Fantasia with screenings at Frightfest London and Sitges. She is a rostered editor at OkayStudio London. “Grapefruit” will be Winnie’s first fully scripted feature.
