The Alliance for Women Film Composers, All Entertainment Business, Film Fatales, and Women in Film & TV Austin are co-hosting a dynamic event that celebrates collaboration, inclusion, and progress in the entertainment industry. The gathering will bring together producers, directors, composers, music supervisors, investors, and business leaders to foster meaningful connections and promote gender parity across creative and business sectors.

Featured speakers include Film Fatales member Geeta Gandbhir (The Perfect Neighbor), AWFC member Carla Patullo (Magic Hour), AEB founder Jennifer Hutchins and WIFT-Austin President Laura Annalora. Moderated by Cassandra Nicholson (ShotDeck).

Film Fatales members will be on a VIP list at the door. Please arrive early to guarantee your spot before the doors open to the general public. Capacity is limited and RSVP does not guarantee entry.

Panelists

Carla Patullo is an American composer and musician based in Los Angeles. She has toured internationally performing with her band White Widow, and with acclaimed musicians such as Liza Minnelli and Rufus Wainwright and with comedienne Sandra Bernhard.  She served as musical director for Bernhard’s I LOVE BEING ME, DON’T YOU album and tour, and has performed at festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival, NXNE, SXSW, and Italy’s Arezzo Wave Festival. Carla has scored music for over 30 motion pictures. Her credits include My Name Is Maria De Jesus (HBO), the Sundance award-winning film Spa Night (NETFLIX), the SXSW horror comedy Porno (SHUDDER), and the animated documentary Lotte that Silhouette Girl (2018 IDA Shortlist). Lakeshore Records recently released Carla’s Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Fangoria’s PORNO (2019). Patullo began composing music for this project at Skywalker Sound as a Composer Fellow in the Sundance Film Music Lab. The resulting horror comedy went on to premiere at SXSW, and then in 2020, it was released with Alamo Drafthouse, and Shudder. Of the soundtrack, The A. V. Club said “Porno has one of the year’s best horror soundtracks … a smoky and eerily playful blend of haunting vocalizations, hissing specters, and shadowy instrumentation.” In addition to composing, Carla is a prolific songwriter and has written over 100 songs with placements on Emmy and BAFTA award-winning shows, such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show (NBC), Skins (E4 & MTV), Sabrina the Teenage Witch (ABC), The Young and the Restless (CBS), and many more. Carla’s upcoming and soon-to-be-released projects include scoring Trick Studio’s animated feature Shadowmaker about animation pioneer Lotte Reiniger, scoring the documentary THE LIFE OF DAN by Emmy Award winning director Jeremy Levine, and writing music for her new album So She Howls.

Geeta Gandbhir began her career in narrative film, learning from Spike Lee and Sam Pollard. Transitioning to documentary filmmaking, she directed notable works such as “Born in Synanon,” “Eyes on the Prize,” and “Lowndes County and the Road to Black Power,” which received acclaim and awards. Gandbhir directed “The Perfect Neighbor” which premiered at Sundance in 2025, the series “Black and Missing” for HBO, winning a NAACP Award and an Independent Spirit Award. Her film “Apart” earned an Emmy Award nomination and a win. She’s been recognized for her short film “Call Center Blues” and her work on “The Asian Americans,” both receiving prestigious awards. Gandbhir also served as an executive producer on “Harlem Ice”, a 5-part Disney+ & Imagine Documentaries docuseries that premiered in February 2025. As a co-director and co-producer, Gandbhir has been involved in various projects, including “A Conversation on Race” series and the HBO film “The Sentence,” which won a Primetime Emmy. Her editing work has contributed to films earning multiple Emmy Awards, Peabody Awards, and an Academy Award.

Producer Jennifer Hutchins is passionate about producing content with compelling story, interesting characters and social cause. She has produced over 70 television series, films, pilots & branded content for most of the major networks, distributors & streamers including over 100 episodes of “Criss Angel Mindfreak” (A&E), “Ghost Hunters International (SYFY) and “The Car Show”, starring Adam Carolla (Fox Sports). Her most recent docu-series “That Animal Rescue Show” with Academy Award winning directors Richard Linklater & Bill Guttentag is airing on Paramount +. Jennifer’s highlighted feature films include, “Most Likely To Die” distributed by Mar Vista Entertainment, “Time Toys” directed by Mark Rosman (A Cinderella Story) & “Unfollowed” a Screenlife film by Producer/ Director Timur Bekmambetov. Her most recent films in post are a documentary film about bipolar called “Spyral” with 2x Oscar winning director Bill Guttentag & voice over by Michelle Trachtenberg, “Switch Up”, a romantic comedy Produced by Elizabeth Avellan starring Cristian de la Fuente & “Applause”, a film about aging out of your dream. She is the founder of All/ Austin Entertainment Business (AEB), a networking & guest speaker community of entertainment pros in all facets of the biz. AEB roots for the underdog and provides insights to help filmmakers, television and media level up!

Freelance Producer, Development Consultant and Talent Manager, Laura Annalora has almost two decades of film and television experience, and her work has aired on multiple platforms in over 170 countries. Annalora has a sixth sense for developing original content that sells. She currently runs her own production company, Queens’ Suite, working with clients like Harper Collins and WebMD to create commercial and branded content. She also freelances as Head of Production for Cannon Lady Pictures, a new independent production company producing scripted and unscripted content. Prior to that, Annalora was at Bat Bridge Entertainment. There she managed a team of development producers and oversaw exclusive network development deals that produced original content seen in 100 million U.S. homes, with two billion viewers digitally. Her strong guidance as Head of Development at Bat Bridge Entertainment led to the successful creation of the Emmy-nominated series, High Profits for CNN, and then went on to develop the Emmy-winning documentary, Disgraced, for SHOWTIME. Prior to Bat Bridge, she was Director of Global Development & Production for National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild, working with over 150 production companies and agencies worldwide to develop original content. Annalora fielded, reviewed, and green-lit innovative TV pilots, one-offs, and series. During her stint as Development Producer and Consultant in Washington, D.C. Annalora made global impact by advancing unique content for independent production companies worldwide, and pitched and sold original ideas to networks, digital platforms, and corporate clients with budgets ranging from $50k-$750k per hour. Annalora takes a hands-on approach working with field crews, editors and pitch executives to transition ideas into compelling pitch packages. She is accomplished at sourcing strong on-camera talent and crafting pitches for concepts that have included Emmy and Gemini award-winning documentaries, as well as BANFF World Television Award winners. Her unscripted programs have been picked up by major cable networks including National Geographic Channel, CNN, and Showtime. Annalora brings a fresh perspective and creative ingenuity to quality entertainment.

As a filmmaker and media producer with experience in academia and nonprofits, Cassandra Nicholson is dedicated to creating meaningful, high-quality content that serves as both an educational tool and a community service. Cassandra is a writer, producer, and director. She wrote the short film “Dark Dignity” and also wrote and directed “I Could Today” and “The Will of Zenia.” Cassandra is also Director of Partnerships and Outreach at ShotDeck. ShotDeck is the largest library of fully searchable high-definition movie images in the world, a great resource for those who study, analyze, and create visual storytelling, from filmmakers and film students to designers and cinematographers seeking inspiration and reference material.
