Wellness Workshop

Building tolerance skills in times of crisis

Fri. January 17th 2pm-2:30pm PT

Film Fatales members impacted by the Los Angeles climate crisis are invited to an online wellness webinar with Dr. Annalise Ophelian from Reps on Set. Moderated by Film Fatales member Magdalena Albizu from NubianLatina Productions.

We’re in shock, we’re overwhelmed, we’re grieving, we’re frightened. Whether you’ve been impacted directly, are providing mutual aid, or are witnessing from afar, the Los Angeles fires have taken a huge toll on mental wellness. Join licensed clinical psychologist Dr. Annalise Ophelian as they offer a series of guided somatic exercises to help you cope with stress and overwhelming emotions brought on by recent events. Together we’ll gain an understanding into how our nervous systems react to emergency situations, and practice breath work, body movement, and other tools designed to help us calm and soothe ourselves during unstable times.

We invite those displaced by the Los Angeles fires to join us however they can – this presentation is offered over zoom and will be accessible to those who are calling in to listen to audio only, and a full transcript and recording will be available following the workshop. While this guided somatic webinar has been developed for Film Fatales members in Los Angeles, all are welcome to join.

Accessibility Notes: This online workshop will be accessible with auto captions and ASL upon request. The transcript and recording will be shared the day after the live event
