Synopsis
A van careens down the interstate highway at 120 mph driven by two young women- Meadow and Veronica- in blood-soaked scrubs. Buckets of body parts- arms, legs, hands, feet- fly around the van. Meadow and Veronica hardly notice. They’re too busy bickering about the state of their friendship.
It’s the same old tale- Veronica’s not feeling appreciated, Meadow thinks she knows best.
In the midst of this chaos, they receive a call from someone blackmailing them. Meadow throws the phone out the window!
Six months earlier, Meadow Martinez, an ambitious, type-A sorority girl, is killing it in college: balancing classes, work, and hitting up frat parties. It’s at one of these parties that we meet sweet, doe-eyed Lana, Meadow’s sorority “little,” and Dominic, who’s sort of like Nate from Euphoria—mean, hot, and charismatic, yet Meadow can’t stand him.
Things go off the rails when later that night, Meadow stumbles upon a bedroom and finds Dominic unconscious and Lana clearly drugged. When Dominic wakes up, Meadow ends up killing him in self defense.
Meadow panics. She can’t go to the cops- Dominic’s family has too many connections. Lana is useless. And Meadow is so broke she can’t afford cleaning supplies. Desperate, Meadow returns to her old neighborhood to seek help from her childhood best friend, Veronica Tran, to get rid of the body.
Veronica is a bit dark, a bit morbid- sort of like the Vietnamese version of Wednesday Addams. Unlike Meadow, never left home after high school. She put her dreams of becoming a doctor on hold and is helping out at the family mortuary.
Despite a falling out since Meadow went to college, Veronica agrees to help.
At night, Meadow and Veronica sneak back into the fraternity house to clean up, and nearly get caught. As they take the body back to the mortuary, a phone call rings- they find a burner phone with a call from a Benny Drippp.
In the midst of all of the shenanigans of trying to get rid of the body, Veronica confronts Meadow about why she stopped talking to her after college.
When they are finally about to dispose of the body with the help of the dubious body broker, Frank “The Zaddy,” tensions peak.
Veronica confronts Meadow about her neglect and lack of appreciation, threatening to end their friendship for good. However, their escapade leads to an altercation where they outsmart Frank, reconcile, and realize how well they work together.
In the end, Meadow submits a business plan for body brokering.
Back at the sorority house, the mysterious blackmailer is revealed to be Simon, Dominic’s best friend and a fellow frat member, setting the stage for the next episode.
