Julee Coles, a marketing executive from Atlanta in the midst of battling depression and anxiety. Struggling to heal in the city, as her nightmares keep her up at night. She has one dream and that is to heal and return to the vibrant business woman that she once was. The death of her mother has caused her to shut out people that is close to her. She realizes that the nightmares are getting worse and seeks help from a life coach.

At work she is distracted and often daydreams of her childhood. She has a brief conversation with her sister, Tasha and decides to go back home to the country. The small town of Elberton where she was raised to express herself more fully and connect with nature. She quickly learns that the country life has issues as well. She will soon discover that her sister is a tyrant, a loud mouth woman that has uncontrollable anger issues. More determined than ever, Julee is focused on writing in her journal and meditating. However, it’s difficult staying in her mother’s home with an irate sister and a weed smoking younger brother, Torrey.

Julee arrives to visit her Aunt Amelia, a church going woman that believes that only God can heal you and seeking counseling is a waste of time and money. Julee is taken aback, but in that moment realizes that her aunt has her opinions and listens intensely. She notices her aunt’s dresser is covered with anxiety medications next to her bible. Julee is confused of how can a woman that spends a lot of time in church praying and not be healed of her mental illness.

At church is where Aunt Amelia seems to be the most joyful. She greets people as they enter the church. Julee enjoys the choir singing but is restless after a three-hour church service. Torrey always sits in the back and leaves a short time after. However, Sunday service turns out to be anything but ordinary when Julee arrives back to her mother’s home. Tasha outburst is in full swing as she is visibly intoxicated. Julee dismisses Tasha’s daily outburst and focus on her own healing by leaving to enjoy the fresh air and visiting the breathtaking views at Lake Hartwell.

Days later, Julee bond with Torrey is flourishing. He talks more as she listens building a bond with her siblings was her goal. She advises him to seek counseling and he agrees. Later, Torrey decides to get baptized, Julee feels it’s her time to leave and get back to her life in the city. She’s aware that she can’t help everyone but to help herself first.

Weeks later, Torrey makes a big move to join Julee in the city of Atlanta.
