Synopsis

In November of 2024, Trump won the presidential election on $200 million in anti-trans ads and promised to eliminate trans identities "on day one." My partner and I watched the news, read Project 2025 and decided to leave the country. All we had to do was get married, sell as much as we could, give away the rest, say goodbye to our friends, and run. So, of course, we decided to make a short film about it, while it was all happening. We filmed our wedding. We filmed the reception. We enlisted friends and family as our cast, and our regular collaborators as crew. The result is EVERYTHING MUST GO, a romantic comedy short and time capsule about the strange, scary unknown that was pre-inauguration queer life in 2025.
