Parity Pipeline

Melanie La Rosa is an accomplished filmmaker and film professor. Her award-winning 2023 documentary, "How To Power A City," follows people leading renewable energy projects in six U.S. locales. Her book, "Communities and the Clean Energy Revolution" (2022), is based on this film. Her writing has appeared in World War Zero, The Progressive, NACLA, and other publications. Her previous film, "The Poetry Deal: a film with Diane di Prima," airs nationwide on PBS stations through 2025. Her work has been honored with grants from the New York State Council on the Arts, Periclean/Mellon Faculty Leadership Award, the Queens Council on the Arts, the Brooklyn Arts Council, the Solutions Journalism Network, and other arts and humanities funders. She grew up in Lansing, Michigan and divides her time between New York City and upstate New York.
