KABUL MELODY is a coming-of-age documentary that follows young musicians navigating life, identity, and hope amid the social and political realities shaped by conflict and displacement. Through music, friendship, and resilience, the film explores how a new generation of Afghan youth uses art as a form of expression, healing, and resistance while facing an uncertain future.
Sahra Mani is an Emmy Nominee, Peabody Award Winner, and Cinema Eye Award Nominee, renowned for her fearless storytelling and dedication to human rights, equality, and justice in Afghanistan.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in film and a master’s degree in documentary filmmaking from the University of the Arts London, graduating with high distinction. Her films amplify the voices of women and marginalized communities, using the power of cinema to promote understanding and drive social change.
In 2024, Sahra joined forces with Jennifer Lawrence and Malala Yousafzai in a high-profile global campaign advocating for girls’ education and women’s rights in Afghanistan.
