Synopsis

Soo-yeon is a 26-year-old actress who works in a small theater. During the day, she performs puppet shows for kids, and at night, she does small roles and odd jobs in plays. She hasn't been in touch with her grandmother Young-soon, who she grew up with, for seven years. Soo-yeon is notified by Young-soon's landlord to vacate the house she rented, as it needed to be rebuilt, compelling her to return to Tongyeong after seven years. When she returns to Tongyeong, her hometown, she finds out that her grandmother is in the hospital and she's acting like she has dementia, even though she doesn't have it. Young-soon insists that she is not a dementia patient but pretends to be one to save on hospital expenses. Soo-yeon and her grandmother argue about what happened to Soo-yeon's mom, Kyung-mi, who went missing when Soo-yeon was young. They're the only ones who remember her and they can't agree on what really happened. Soo-yeon feels anger towards her grandmother for blaming her for Kyung-mi's disappearance. But she's also worried that if her grandmother dies, she'll be the only one left who remembers her mom and their time together.
