Synopsis
Mad Bad Dangerous to Know reclaims the story of Lady Caroline Lamb - not as a footnote in Byron’s legend or as Princess Diana’s great-great aunt, but as a brilliant, volatile, and wildly modern woman ahead of her time. Set in 1812 London, the script explores themes of autonomy, obsession, motherhood, and rebellion through a feminist lens. Deeply researched and rooted in Caroline and Byron’s own letters, poetry, and journals, the film blends high emotional stakes with historical rigor. Caroline’s neurodivergent son, Augustus, is based on real accounts, and his inclusion adds depth to the story’s portrait of a woman navigating impossible expectations: as mother, muse, wife, and outcast.
