In the summer of 1992, Soledad, a heartbroken yet hopeful romantic returns to Provincetown on the eve of her 21st birthday. Amidst the backdrop of her tight-knit Afro-Latina and Black queer community, Soledad starts a passionate affair with Jules, a butch lesbian artist who challenges her belief in love, tests her friendships, and reaffirms the strength and salvation that her community provides.

Bio

Working with intimacy and without flinching, the work of director and screenwriter, A. Sayeeda Moreno catches the moment, and spark of inhalation just before everything dissipates. Her work draws from her upbringing in the mythology of New York City and the bohemian communities that came into her home and shaped her worldview. Moreno is a Sundance Women in Finance, Tribeca All Access, and 2026 Film Independent Amplifier fellow and SFFilm Society Hearst Grant recipient. She is developing the coming-of-age lesbian romance Out in the Dunes inspired by her Provincetown summers and memoir-based essay film An Ambivalent Daughter. Moreno earned her MFA from NYU Tisch as a dean’s fellow and teaches film production and screenwriting at Bard College.
