Synopsis
Practikill Studios specializes in top notch, old school practical effects. A four person team from the studio has spent the last two years on the set of 'Through Darkness'. In its first season Through Darkness was a low budget, unexpected hit.
With its success, the studio gave up more money for the second season... but that came with strings in the form of the hatchet man line producer being promoted to an EP, and tasked by the studio to keep an eye on things.
Season two production was a nightmare for all involved and ended in a cliffhanger in which the story and drama hinged on the show’s lead being bitten by a zombie. The scene involved high drama, detailed practical effects, and a complex creature build.
When the show went to air, the Practikill team, as well as the writing staff, were shocked to see the studio had changed things in post, inserting plot breaking concepts and cringe inducing digital effects.
After months of fan outrage on the internet and a drop in ratings, production is about to begin on the third season, which will be its last if they do not recover.
