Synopsis

In a world where we all believe the worst-case scenario is possible—but rarely does it actually happen—Amber finds herself living through one in real time. She reluctantly tags along to what she thinks is a simple game night, only to be blindsided when she arrives—it’s actually a surprise birthday party for Greg, a man she doesn’t know. What starts as mild discomfort quickly spirals into full-blown disaster after Amber accidentally walks in on Greg mid-bathroom break, setting off a wave of unfortunate events that escalate from social awkwardness to full-scale catastrophe. And just when she thinks the worst is over, the night reaches a new level of insanity—sending Amber running for her life, questioning every decision that led her to this moment.

Bio

Her origin story begins in the suburbs of Chicago, but Kendall Goldberg is no sheltered Midwesterner. She has been to UFO conventions in the high desert, skydiving (indoors), she’s trekked the uninhabited islands of the Galápagos, she’s spelunked Belizean caves, she’s even been hailed down a Canadian river in a giant hamster ball. Despite these many adventures, nothing has ever made her as happy as being on set directing (you can wipe your tears). At 22 years old, she was somehow able to convince an amazing ensemble of Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Anna Konkle & Maya Erskine (PEN15), and Jim O’Heir (Parks and Recreation) to star in her debut feature WHEN JEFF TRIED TO SAVE THE WORLD. The film was acquired by Samuel Goldwyn Films after an award-winning festival circuit. Kendall is a graduate of Chapman University’s film program, has screened at festivals worldwide, was selected as a Panavision New Filmmaker Grant recipient, a Student Academy Awards Semifinalist, a Women In Film Mentee, and a participant in the Big Vision Empty Wallet Lab. She co-created, produced, and directed a pilot with Derek Waters (Drunk History) and Comedy Central, and has directed campaigns for companies including Nissan, TheAthletic, BarkBox, The Honest Company, Walgreens, Carvana, and more. Kendall loves genre blending, and her work is comedy forward and character-driven. She is represented by Avalon Management, CAA, Gravy Films, and Jackoway Austen. www.kendallgoldberfilms.com
