Synopsis

Sidney Knight, a reclusive NYU film student, has spent years hiding behind her biggest secret: she’s the anonymous author of Free Timothée, the wildly popular and obsessive Timothée Chalamet fan fiction. Her double life has remained perfectly compartmentalized: in reality, she’s a serious aspiring filmmaker, dedicated to writing prestige dramas. Online, she’s a beloved internet icon, crafting swoon-worthy stories about Hollywood’s biggest heartthrob.

But when Sidney accidentally submits her personal, rom-com-inspired screenplay as her thesis instead of the brooding period piece she intended, her professor is unexpectedly thrilled. The script catches the attention of Hollywood insiders, quickly snowballing into an opportunity Sidney never saw coming. Suddenly, she’s swept into an industry whirlwind, her screenplay gaining traction as a potential feature film, with one small, surreal twist: Timothée Chalamet himself is attached to star.

Thrown into a world she’s only ever written about, Sidney struggles to balance the excitement of making a movie with the growing anxiety that her carefully kept secret could come crashing down. She’s now working alongside the very man she’s unknowingly spent years fictionalizing, all while trying to keep her identity as Timothée’s Girl buried in the past. As her script undergoes revisions, her friendships evolve, and the sparks of an unexpected romance ignite, Sidney finds herself living inside her own rom-com—one she’s completely unprepared for.

But the internet never forgets. As whispers about the similarities between Free Timothée and the new film start circulating, the walls around Sidney’s secret life begin to crack. If the truth gets out, she risks losing not just the biggest break of her career, but also the newfound relationships she never saw coming—including one with Timothée himself, who might just be falling for her in real life.

Now, Sidney must decide: will she keep running from her past, or embrace the story she was always meant to tell?
