"A Sugar and Spice Holiday" follows Chinese-American Suzie, a rising young architect, when she returns to her small hometown in Maine for Christmas. When she gets there, she is pushed to follow her grandmother's footsteps and enter the local gingerbread house competition.

Jennifer Liao's directorial credits include episodes of the contemporary sci-fi/horror series FROM for MGM produced by AGBO & Midnight Radio, as well as the period drama MURDOCH MYSTERIES for Acorn & CBC and TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES for The CW. She also directed the landmark Asian-American Christmas movies A SUGAR & SPICE HOLIDAY for Lifetime, for which she received a DGC Award nomination, and A BIG FAT FAMILY CHRISTMAS for Hallmark. Prior to that, Jennifer wrote and directed episodes of the crime drama BLOOD AND WATER, nominated for Best Drama Series at the Canadian Screen Awards, and made her feature directorial debut with the supernatural dark comedy END OF DAYS, INC. She was a TIFF Writers’ Studio fellow in 2018/19.
