Alyssa, a successful photographer, wakes one morning to find her apartment ransacked and her husband mysteriously missing. Left without even a photograph to offer the police, she turns to his colleague Eve, a talented jazz pianist with a flirtatious charm and disarming grace. Eve helps her confront her husband’s longtime struggle with depression and to, over time, accept his absence. While getting to know this woman through such unusual circumstances, Alyssa is surprised to find herself falling in love again.
Savannah Bloch is an American/South African filmmaker and graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Her feature film directorial debut, And Then There Was Eve, won a 2017 Jury Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and opened numerous Women’s Film Festivals across the U.S. As a digital producer/director/cinematographer, Savannah created 50+ mini-documentaries for Hearst Digital Media and over 300 videos for medical education. Shooting documentary footage of Chinese neocolonialism in Nicaragua, the eviscerating impact of shrapnel on Syrian refugees and rural surgery in remote Bolivia have reshaped her view of the world and unearthed more questions. As a cinematographer, Savannah shot the award-winning feature film, Quality Problems and has worked with brands such as Us Weekly, Popsugar, TLC, and Netflix. Savannah studied stage directing in NYC at The Barrow Group and afterward honed her skills as an actor’s director in two plays. One is a dark comedy about a dysfunctional family and the second probes the post-9/11 Sikh experience. Currently, Savannah works closely with Obsidian Music recently directing two music videos with already over 1 million views and a music tour documentary. Savannah runs a weekly director’s workshop in Hollywood called The Sandbox and teaches cinematography at USC. Her passions include social innovation, women's rights activism, surfing, and veganism. Savannah works locally in Los Angeles, San Diego, Barcelona, and Cape Town.
