Writer/Director Nikki Braendlin’s first film, the feature dramedy AS HIGH AS THE SKY, was distributed by Cinema Libre Studios after garnering multiple awards and strong reviews ("This first feature from writer/director Nikki Braendlin is a strikingly intimate study in visual character definition and painful emotional growth." - Entertainment Magazine). She recently completed the short films, "Debbie Walks Her Duck," about a woman walking to the nail salon, oblivious to the chaos unfolding around her and "Meow," centered around a couple who has a unique way of working through conflicts.
Before segueing to writing and directing, co-founded Hear Me Roar Productions (HMR). An all-women’s theater company, HMR's performances were designed to bring awareness and financial aid to women’s and children’s charities. Through HMR, and her work as a group home counselor, Nikki ran writing and acting workshops for at-risk teenaged girls, helping them create and perform scenes from their personal histories. Nikki served three terms on the Board of Directors for Alliance of Women Directors (AWD), a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number of women and nonbinary directors working in the entertainment industry. She currently serves as their Operations Coordinator.
