When teen runaway, Legs (Angelina Jolie), gets four high school girls to think for themselves, they beat up a teacher, get expelled from high school, hunker down in an abandoned house and give themselves tattoos. Things go off the rails when Legs crashes the car of the school jokey (Dash Mihok), Goldie (Jenny Shimizu) OD's, Legs kidnaps her father (Chris Mulkey) and Rita (Jenny Lewis) accidentally shoots him, forcing Maddy (Hedy Burress in her first film) to stand up to Legs. Great supporting cast includes Peter Facinelli in his debut film role as Maddy's boyfriend and Cathy Moriarty as Maddy's mother. She’s credited with discovering Angelina Jolie on her feature film debut, FOXFIRE. Spielberg hired her for her first TV episode, SEAQUEST (Amblin, NBC). All of Annette's films have maintained continuous distribution and are currently available on PRIME VIDEO.
A student of legendary acting coach, Joan Darling, Annette has a remarkable track record for casting A-list actors and, with an early career in camera, delivering cinematically beautiful films. In addition to directing four movies, two network TV episodes and a 30-min short, she shadowed directors on The Rookie (Tara Miele) and Homeland (Alex Graves, Lesli Glatter). She's a produced screenwriter and script doctor. Her career began with script supervising over 24 movies for A-list directors (Bruce Beresford, Hector Babenco, Gary Sinese) and producers (Joel Silver, Richard Zanuck, Saul Zaentz). She was selected for the inaugural group of the DGA Women's Steering Committee SQUAD. And recently she mentored a first-time director on a short film that was selected for the 2026 American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes.
