Kymberly Harris is a writer-director whose work centers on emotionally intimate, character-driven stories about identity and survival within institutional systems. She has written and directed three award-winning short films and directed one feature, establishing a voice grounded in psychological realism and emotional truth. Her short film starring Britt Lower helped shape the creative foundation for her limited series The Stay. Drawing from lived experience working with young people in crisis, Harris brings compassion and authenticity to stories about recovery, resilience, and the struggle to reclaim one’s voice. Esteemed figures such as Al Pacino and Laverne Cox have lauded her innovative and passionate approach to storytelling. ​Harris teaches film at Loyola Marymount University.
