In WAIT LIST: A LOVE-ISH STORY, the woman of Carter Morgan’s dreams is Lisa Chase, his childhood friend’s mother. When Carter learns that she’s recently divorced, he decides to go for it.
Enter Lisa’s philandering ex-husband, Jeff, who is reluctant to let go, Carter’s parents’ disapproval of their son’s May-December romance, and Lisa’s son, Denny, who is less than pleased that Carter, his longtime friend, is sleeping with his mother.
As deeper feelings develop between Lisa and Carter, it becomes clear that the obstacles for moving forward as a couple may be insurmountable. What starts out as sexy and fun turns serious and sad. As appropriately aged admirers with less baggage suddenly surface, Lisa and Carter each decide to pursue more stable relationships.
Debra Markowitz was the creator of the Nassau County Film Commission and ran it for 33 years. She is a co-founder and continues to run the Long Island International Film Expo (LIIFE) since 1998. Debra is an award winning writer and director who has directed many short films, pilots, and four feature films.
