You and yours are invited to an in-person filmmaker mixer in Los Angeles! Mix and mingle with your favorite directors, cinematographers, composers, producers and other film folks in this summer gathering celebrating creatives of all marginalized genders. Let’s connect with like minded folks interested in amplifying underrepresented voices in the film industry…and have a little fun in the process!

Co-hosted by AWFC and Film Fatales with support from community partners A-Doc, Black Film Space, Chicana Directors Initiative, Composers Diversity Collective, DGA WSC, Film Girlz Brunch, ICF+C, and Women in Entertainment.

Lite bites with vegetarian options will be provided along with a full cash bar. This venue is 21+

We will be making a toast and taking a group photo around 7:30pm.

Limited street parking. Paid parking lots nearby. Plus ones are welcome but all guests must register in advance.

Event Partners

The The Asian American Documentary Network is a community of composers and colleagues who strive to support and celebrate the work of women and non-binary composers through advocacy and education. This visibility is important to herald in equality amongst our industry and bring diverse voices to film, television, video games and multimedia projects globally. We are proud to host the first ever directory of women film composers allowing filmmakers and decision makers the opportunity to discover new talent. 

The AWFC advocates for the inclusion of women composers within industry events; supports filmmakers, game developers and studios in their inclusion of women composers; and educates, mentors and inspires emerging women composers.

Black Film Space is a non profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to enhancing the careers of Black filmmakers through skill enhancing and community building programming. We are a collective of directors, screenwriters, producers, cinematographers, actors and other media makers that want to develop genuine connections and grow with fellow Black creatives.

The Chicana Directors Initiative mission is to create a solid foundation of Latina Directors and Latina DPs and successfully immerse the members into sustainable careers in the entertainment industry with fair representation and equal pay.

The Composers Diversity Collective exists to eliminate the industry’s challenge to find culturally diverse music creators, music supervisors, sound engineers and musicians, to increase our own awareness of each other, and to dispel misconceptions about the stylistic range of any minority composer.

Film Fatales is a 501(c)3 non profit arts organization and talent discovery platform which supports a membership community of over a thousand feature film and television directors of all marginalized genders. We advocate for hiring equality and inclusive programming practices by working with key decision makers to expand the talent pool and raise the visibility of underrepresented creators.

Film Girlz Brunch is a community for femme folks in the film industry in Los Angeles that hosts monthly meetups and industry field trips!

The International Community of Female Cinematographers (ICF+C) is a collective of professional female cinematographers from around the world who provide community support and industry advocacy. 



Women In Entertainment 501(c)(3) was founded in 2015 by Renee Rossi and Gretchen McCourt to bring together forward-thinkers from all areas of the entertainment industry to explore topics that greatly impact women, from human rights and women’s leadership to storytelling across platforms and empowering the next generation of women to emerge as creative powerhouses.
