Synopsis

ALL OF THE ABOVE follows a diverse group of high school seniors in a World Religions class, offering a window into their journeys over the course of the year. Set in a predominantly white, Christian suburban community, the students—coming from a variety of racial and religious backgrounds—engage in open, honest discussions as they explore each other's beliefs. Through these conversations, they begin to challenge and reconsider their preconceived notions, forming unexpected connections along the way.

Director Identity

Bio

Allison Walsh (they/she) is an independent documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and fine artist exploring identity, culture, and spirituality in the Midwest. A 2025 PBS Ignite Fellow, their short films The Daily Aesthetics of Alexander Martin and Parallel Lines have screened nationally and internationally.


Their debut feature documentary, All of the Above—produced in association with Kartemquin Films—examines religion in public schools and premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February 2026.


Walsh is the founder and director of the Big Picture Peoria Film Festival because they believe that sharing film with a live audience is a sacred ritual. Walsh has worked on projects for ESPN+, Discovery+, Magnolia Network, multiple independent feature films and City So Real by Steve James.
