Synopsis

Emily, a Texas college student who is usually driven but is now listless from the heartbreaking death of her mother, discovers her best friend Mia’s miscarriage on campus, which they worry will be investigated as an abortion. Joined by Mia’s roommate, fame-hungry tennis star Jess, they have 24 hours to take Mia across state lines to a clinic in New Mexico to save her life.

On the way, the secrets of Mia’s miscarriage reveal themselves as Kane, an overzealous police officer, begins chasing them, determined to get his son off the hook for attempting to aid Mia in aborting their pregnancy. Along the way, they call on Emily’s disapproving young Mormon Aunt for help, who joins the journey and is hiding something like them. Emily must now lead the way, urgently trying to save her friend and fill the gaping hole left by the passing of her mother all while outmaneuvering the soul-crushing realities of Texas’s anti-abortion laws.
