THE CHOICE explores women’s right to choose their method of childbirth under restrictive new laws in Iran.
During Iran’s presidential elections, a pregnant woman nearing childbirth discovers that under new laws, she has no legal right to choose her delivery method—natural birth is mandatory. The film examines the impact of this law on women’s autonomy and the broader societal implications of restricted reproductive rights.
Mehrana Raadfar
Born in Tehran, she is a graduate of Film Directing from the University of Art, Tehran.
She has directed and produced several short films and documentaries and has been actively involved in various roles within Iranian cinema. She is known for creating works with a creative approach, focusing on social issues and women’s topics.
