WAIT is a powerful film about the cost of silence after sexual assault. The story follows Evie, 23, who harbors a deep trauma. She agrees to meet Matt, 25, the person who sexually assaulted her in high school, for an apology seven years in the making. Bubbling just beneath is rawer version of Evie, Other Evie, 16, who says what adult Evie is too afraid to say. Matt doesn’t remember what he did, only that “something happened.” Once a rising musician, Matt was derailed by drugs, alcohol, and a guilt he couldn’t name. Evie takes him back to that night and as past and present blur, she confronts her rage, and misplaced shame, as Other Evie urges her to speak the truth that might set her free.
