BIBLE QUIZ follows seventeen-year-old Mikayla Irle as she memorizes books of the Bible on her quest to win the National Bible Quiz Championship and the heart of JP, her quiz team captain. The film explores coming of age in the face of faith, doubt, fierce competition, sexuality and teen love. It is director Nicole Teeny’s first feature length documentary.

"Nicole Teeny is a queer Lebanese-American filmmaker and the founder of Teeny Motion Pictures, specializing in narrative and documentary. As a Slamdance Grand Jury-winning director, Nicole’s projects have been featured on platforms like Netflix, Paramount+, Sundance Channel, Kanopy, Good Docs, Amazon Prime, and most recently, her memoir podcast series on ESPN 30 for 30. Her films have been showcased in prestigious festivals such as the Venice Film Festival, Slamdance, and Outfest and reached audiences in galleries, museums, festivals, and theaters worldwide. Nicole's films notably contribute to cultural discourse. She spoke at the United Nations on media and social impact, her video art has been featured and discussed in an MIT Press textbook, and her films have been showcased globally as representations of U.S. culture at U.S. Embassies via the U.S. State Department’s renowned "American Film Showcase." Her work has also been preserved in the U.S. Library of Congress. She is grateful for the support from notable institutions such as Tribeca Film Institute, IDA Enterprise, Berlin Film Festival’s Berlinale Talents, PGA Create Lab, LEF Moving Image Fund, If/Then, and Staying Alive Foundation, amongst others.
