Synopsis

In AFFLUENZA, Dennis Hansen brings his former college friend's to his family's summer lake home for what is supposed to be a celebration of his engagement to longtime girlfriend, Lena. When his younger brother and childhood friends crash the weekend his plans and attitude shift. Determined to make the most of the weekend, the group takes a boat out of the lake where a deadly accident occurs. The group is divided by those who want to call the police and those who'd rather cover up the weekend's incident. Unable to come to a compromise, Lena and her friends fight to survive has Dennis's family gets more and more aggressive. This division leaves Dennis torn between his real family and his chosen family.

Bio

Lindsey Paulette is a filmmaker, writer, MUA, and visual artist born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She got her start in the arts at age seven as a stage actor and has been in love with creating and entertaining ever since. She studied filmmaking at John Tyler Community College, Savannah College of Art and Design, and eventually got her BA in film from Virginia Commonwealth University in August 2022. She spends her days shooting commercials, prepping for her own personal film projects, writing screenplays, painting, and running her independent production company, Incredibly Okay Films LLC.

In September 2022, she wrapped production on her first feature length film, The Trip, that she wrote, directed, and produced under her film production company Incredibly Okay Films. The film premiered in February of 2024 and is due to hit streaming at the conclusion of it's festival and theatrical run. Most recently, her feature length script, Beyond the Fence, won at the Virginia Screenwriting competition and continues to make its way through the festival circuit. The novel is available for purchase via amazon. Lindsey hopes the script and novel gain enough traction to reach production and therefore give her the opportunity to direct her second feature length project.
